Called in today for lunch after seeing a board outside advertising Ploughman’s lunch inc. a hot drink for 9.99 choice of cheddar cheese. Ham or Brie. We have been before so know that all the staff are lovely and friendly. When I ordered at the counter the lady said “you have had them before” to which I replied no we haven’t. She replied you won’t be disappointed. Well when it arrived complete with a warm baguette it looked amazing everything you want including cress. If you are anywhere near this cafe you definitely should pay it a visit, you won’t be disappointed. P.S. we did pay extra ( not a lot ) for having ham & cheese) well worth it. Thank you and we will be back

Whilst in town we popped in for a drink and snack as it was recommended to us by an animal charity shop across the road. There is a nice clean area to sit with your well behaved dog at the back of the cafe. A decent amount of space between tables so you are not sitting on top of each other which also gives room for dogs to sit without getting trodden on. There is a little book exchange area at the back so you could enjoy a drink and a bite to eat whilst reading. We had cheese scones and hot drinks. The scones were homemade, large and lovely and came with a suitable amount of butter. The cakes looked really nice too, so whilst there I also purchased a generous slice of pineapple and coconut cake to take away, which was lush. Prices are reasonable and they also do hot food. Staff are friendly and very helpful. One member of staff even bought a few dog biscuits and placed them on the table for us to give to our dog. The tables were cleared quickly after people left which is a small detail but gives a good impression when you arrive/looking for somewhere to sit. When next visiting Newton Abbot, and find myself in need of somewhere nice take a moment, I will definitely be stopping at The Country Table cafe. It's places like this that we could do with more of, instead of giving our money to the ever increasing American style eateries.

Ive been coming here for over a year and always enjoyed the food I’ve had. Smashing breakfast cooked to perfection and served hot( how many places I’ve been served cold/ luke warm food) The jacket potato’s are amazing too, served how they should, hot with butter/ filling and a beautiful fresh salad too. Highly recommend for a good meal or snack
